An Artistic Retreat
A few days ago, I went with my AV class and some professionals to a kind of artistic retreat in a small village in the North of Lebanon called Douma. The whole point of the "trip" was to learn more about lighting, sounds and whatnot in movies and with that in mind, film our own movie. Considering we were only there for 2 and 1/2 days, it was all very hectic, we barely had any sleep and I was moody the whole time (One minute I'm yelling, the next I'm rapping and going crazy. Nothing new) but it was so good so I thought I'd share the whole thing with you!
On the first day, we went on an little exploration to get a feel of the place and get ideas for our movie. The architecture is very old fashioned and typically Lebanese which gave us lots of ideas for the film.
Everyone was so nice, it was actually a bit off putting (Until some guy made fun of us because we're from a french school and he was surprised we could even speak arabic, then I was like "Ohhh, that's more like it".)
We sat down at the end of the day and shared the ideas the place gave us: Loneliness, Construction, Doors and Nature.
We then got divided into 4 groups depending on what inspired us and started filming. I was in the Doors group (Hehe, see what I did there?) which was basically the filter of each idea so filming was a bit tricky for us (At the end of the trip, our ideas were tossed in the trash so we could film something completely generic. By the amount of ranting I did, you could say I was a bit gutted).
Our days consisted of filming/photoshooting, rapping and continuously buying/eating food: Other than lunch (Which we got to choose), the food imposed was horrible. How happy we were when we found a proper restaurant says it all.
All in all, this trip was a real bonding experience with awesome people and a great learning opportunity with certified artists that I know will be big one day. I also vlogged the whole thing (No, you may not see the vlogs) but there are some pretty hilarious things I'm gonna get to look back on (There was a pre-penetration celebration. No, it's nothing like it sounds).
Word of the end? Money (x5), guns and hoes. Seems appropriate enough.
I usually hate the pictures I take but I loved this one so much (Don't even know why; it's not that great)
I ship them.

Rapunzel rapunzel, let down your hair. Seriously though, how cool was our hotel?
I feel like we spent the whole trip just chilling on the floor right there.

We're quite the film makers, aren't we?
I'm fawning, what a view!
You could say we were a bit hungry.
It seems so stupid that I was dreading going there because now all I can think about is going back.
