My New Year's Resolutions
If you've ever made any new year's resolutions than you probably know it's really hard to stick to them for more than 10 days: We make the mistake of thinking that these resolutions are for stopping and cutting things out of our lives, when in fact they're only about improving your life, which is why we fail at them. After thinking long and hard, I came up with these ones:
Be more socially active: It's very easy for me to lock myself away in my own world and not come out for days, keeping the social interactions to a strict minimum (I don't want to call myself an introvert but I guess I have introver(sial?) tendencies). My dad says that since I was a kid I've been living in my own bubble, not paying much attention to the outside world and I guess it's true. But I don't think it's very healthy and I suppose I should make more of an effort to go out with my friends and participate in social activities.
Spend less time on the internet: I guess this one follows the one before. To be honest this doesn't sound very appealing to me but I know it's the right thing to do. Need to go out and smell the fresh air and all that.
Try to function more as a human being: Get some notebooks to help with my to-do lists. Put my white board to good use. Clean my desk on a weekly basis (If you saw it right now, you would freak). Make a habit out of studying for tests at an appropriate time and not the night before, do my homework, post more on here, eat 3 times a day and not when it sounds convenient (I either eat 10 times a day or 1, no inbetween).
Limit the couch potatoness: Exercice (more?). Learn how to do proper squats without busting my back, to take the stairs and to stop lounging around so much (I say so much because we all know being lazy will always be my #1 activity). I've decided this year is the year I get fitter and stop dry heaving when I go up the stairs. Sounds like a good plan.
Reduce the unhealthy food: It'll be hard but this serves a greater good. Don't want my arteries clogging up now do I?
Live a little: Be more spontaneous, put my bucket list to good use. Do things I've always been too afraid to do. Go crazy. It's nice to do "in the moment" things because when all is said and done, these unexpected memories are the ones you'll remember the most.
These are really basic resolutions but they're damn hard to follow through, aren't they?
