The Christmas Gift Guide
Look, it's
better not to sugarcoat it: As gift askers/getters go, I'm probably the
worst. My mind goes completely blank everytime I have to come up with a
gift idea and I suddenly instantly forget mine or whoever I'm getting a gift for's likes and dislikes.
That's why I came up with this Gift Guide to help me not ask for rubbish this year, and help me with other people's gifts as well (Obviously, this is too late for you to use but you can always keep it in mind for other occasions):
Something impersonal: Might sound like an awful gift to receive but I think things like vouchers and money are so useful to get because it's up to you what you use them for. (It goes without saying that except if you want to get dumped, it'd be preferable not to get this to your significant other/siblings).
Books: Other people might not get it but if you're a bookworm, you will. Receiving tons and tons of books might seem awful to some people, but to me it's literally a dream. You could ask for lots of individual ones or a box set kind of thing, like a Game of Thrones or a John Green one.
Insanely expensive things you don't really need but you really want: A new laptop or a new phone, a really nice watch or wallet. It's not like you need all of these things but it's always nice to have them.
A good gift box: Some kind of Bath&Body Works one with really nice and varied products inside or one of the boxes Victoria's Secret is doing right now. It's good things all wrapped into one (usually) nice looking box you can use later on for storage or whatever.
Homey stuff: This might not interest any of you but I personally love candles and I wouldn't mind receiving some at all. It's a great gift idea for mothers and aunts or just generally people who like home decor.
Nice jewellery: This will always be a good gift all year round. I've never gotten the exhilaration people get from jewellery but I know for a fact that you can never go wrong with some nice earrings or a necklace.
Bits and bobs: Slippers, CDs, DVDs, anything and everything you can come up with. We don't really do stockings here but I suppose if you do them, you'd put those bits and bobs in there.
These are actually quite helpful for disorganised messes such as me, who knew.
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and that you get everything you asked for (Fyi, if I could insert emojis here, I'd go crazy).
What's the best present you've ever gotten for Christmas?
