Museum, Boats & Vintage Shops | Marseille 2015

Day 2 of our trip was very full, so I won't annoy you with my usual introductory chit chat. Let's get right into it!

We started the day with a trip to another contemporary art exhibition held, this time, in an amazing looking museum (as seen above). Its architecture, from the outside and the inside, is incredible and it was on the waterfront so if we looked into the cracks of the walls, we could see endless waves of blue just beneath us.
Both exhibitions were really great; there were actually some pictures taken in Lebanon during the Civil War which was interesting to see and the food exhibition was quite thought-provoking actually. Who would have known?
I wish we had time to visit that cathedral because it was absolutely stunning.
The piece of metal sticking out from the museum in the first picture is actually a sort of bridge between the museum and the "Fort Saint-Jean", a fortification built in 1660 by Louis XIV.

I'm pretty sure that's the Fort Saint-Jean, correct me if I'm wrong. Everywhere we went is kind of mushed in my head right now...
After this little excursion, we visited an old hospice and went for a quick lunch before we had to be at the port to go on a boat ride (I'm tellin ya, it was heaven out there).

I think you've seen enough pictures of the sea to guess how good the boat ride was.
There was actually a little girl on the boat who was kicking and screaming because she was afraid of the sea so we made it a point to take care of her and started this game to make her less afraid: We'd all stand and wait for the boat to collide with a wave and try not to fall; last one standing wins (It was terrifying but exhilarating at the same time, I'm sure we looked ridiculous with our mix of shrieks of terror and giggles but I don't care).
SO.FRICKING.PRETTY. Also, we saw dolphins !!!
After the boat ride, we got some free time to do some more exploring; during lunch, we'd spotted these lanes filled with vintage shops and were so excited to check them out. I'm so annoyed because I'm a very undecisive person and thought I could come back to get what I wanted but I didn't have any more time so I missed out on a vintage one of a kind handbag and really cool earrings (and a fish pedicure.. Snif).

I'm not even gonna try to explain this picture.
After that we kind of hung out in the streets until it was time for dinner then went to bed, because Day 3 had a gruelling 6AM start.

Tell me if you're enjoying these posts so far, and come back tomorrow for the most intense day of the trip...
